DDA compliant stair treads from FibreGrid

Suffolk-based company, FibreGrid, has just launched EdgeGrip, slip resistant stair nosings.

EdgeGrip has been designed to be fully compliant with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act, Part III, which comes into effect next year. These state that all staircases and steps that are accessible to the public must now have a contrasting coloured slip resistant nosing.

EdgeGrip is a pre-formed fibreglass panel with a slip resistant carbon grit top surface. This comes in two types, one for internal use and the other, with a heavier grit profile, more suitable for external applications.

It is also available in any BS or RAL colour, with the standard stock colour being yellow, preferred choice of the Royal National Institute for the Blind.

The panels, featuring a patented featheredge to avoid creating a trip hazard, are attached with a combination of adhesive and mechanical fixings. leisure-kit keyword: EdgeGrip
